Laika has made some of my favourite films like, Coraline (2009); ParaNorman (2012) and the amazing The Boxtrolls (2014). 

Laika is an animation studio that produces features film and short as well. The last film they made was The Boxtrolls which I loved. The Boxtrolls was premiered at the Oscar and BAFTA-nominated on August 17^th 2012. Their first stop-motion was Coraline, which I could watch time and time again.

The film was based on the Coraline book, which is more twisted and scary! Laika handcraft and transform everyday material into their film, like the trees in Coraline, the blossom was made out of popcorn.

If you haven’t seen The Boxtrolls, it’s a must! The Boxtrolls is a 3D, stopmotion and CG animated film.

The film is set in the Victorian-era, in a posh town obsessed with wealth, and the finest, stinkiest cheese. Under the cobblestone of these posh streets live The Boxtrolls, who are meant to be evil… and crawl, who eat the cheese and the children..YUM!!....well that’s what the legend says, there for it must be true….


If you haven't seen any of these film, they are a must, as the characters are amazing and the animation is mind blowing!
